Corazón
Lagoon:
Duration: 6 hours on horseback 8 hours on foot.
Passing through beech forests on the slope of Mount Grande, and along the Cóndor River
valley, we reach the Corazón Lagoon. Weather permitting, we can return across a highland
pasture to get to the Mount Grande lookout points that afford beautiful views of Lake San
Martín.Condor Cliff:
Duration: 3 hours on horseback 3 hours on foot.
Crossing the Freire River and passing through a dense beech forest, we reach a lookout
point 700 meters above sea level from which we can see Lake San Martín.
La Nana
outpost:
Duration: 3 hours on horseback 4 hours on foot.
Passing through the romerillo area along the moraines facing Lake San Martín, we
cross the Grande River and reach La Nana, Jimmy Radbones old outpost.
Martínez de
Rozas outpost:
Duration: 3 hours on horseback 3 hours of foot.
From La Nana we go to the back of the ranch. From the Martínez de Rozas outpost we will
be able to see Boundary Marker 62 and Lake OHiggins (the Chilean side of Lake San
Martín), an area of evergreen beech forests and dozens of lagoons that shows signs of
glacial erosion.
Altamirano
outpost:
Duration: 3 hours on horseback 3 hours on foot.
From the Martínez de Rozas outpost we will follow the river of the same name to the old
Altamirano outpost, enjoying the dense evergreen beech forest on the way. |
