Activities and Excursions |
| Fishing: The Cabo San Pablo and Ladrillero rivers abound in brown and rainbow trout. There are day excursions to Quemada Bay and the beaver dams of the San Pablo River valley. Overlanding excursions: Lake Yehuin and the lake lookout point: One of the most spectacular views in Tierra del Fuego: from the top of a hill behind Lake Yehuin you see Lake Fagnano, beech forests and the Andes. San Sebastián Bay: In the north of the island, where the landscape changes completely, becoming a steppe, Jules Popper panned for gold in a bleak, windswept place called El Páramo (wilderness) in the 19th century. The Cullen ranch is the site of an oil operation. Harberton Ranch: This first European outpost on the island of Tierra del Fuego, founded in 1886 by the Rev. Thomas Bridges, is still in the family. Tourists can visit its main house, which has a museum. Policarpo
